There was nothing initially, no reaction. Just a blankness. Then it started all of a sudden. In a slow, steady stream from her eyes, soundless. Soon, the tears came down in an avalanche. In huge sobs. As if something had broken loose in her, something that she had held close to her for long.

He didn’t know what to do or say. The avalanche of brackish water had said a lot to him. It had spoken much more louder and effectively than the words she hadn’t ever could have.


For the prompt over at Weekend Wordsmith for this week – Avalanche. I am doing prompts after a long, long, long time.  So, pardon me if I have turned a bit rusty. 😛
