Just like that

The beep brought her out of her forced concentration on the computer screen. It was him. ‘What’s up?’ – was all the text message said. ‘At work,’ she started keying in, and then added, as an afterthought, ‘Bored.’

‘Chuck it then, and come over. Let’s catch up with LAK.’ – her cellphone beeped almost immediately.

‘Can’t. S’posed to be in meeting in half hour’ – she texted back.

‘Meeting? That’s where I am too’ – came the reply.

Her ‘Oh, really?’ was met by an ‘Oh, yes!’ from him.

‘Aren’t you s’posed to be busy?’ she asked.  ‘I am’ – pat came the reply.

A few back-and-forth messages later, a quick glance at her watch showed that it was time for the meeting. She opened her cubicle door and headed to the conference room. ‘I just called to say I love you’ was playing at the reception. She smiled to herself. The meeting wouldn’t be so boring, after all!

This song just takes my breath away with the cuteness and tender love in it:
