Goa Tales – 2

How can I visit Goa and not fall in love with the magnificent churches there? We could not make it to all the must-see churches there, but I am glad about the ones we visited. The churches in Goa have an old-world charm of their own, and took us to some bygone era. πŸ™‚

This picture is of the Basilica of Bom Jesus – an absolutely stunning church. The mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier are preserved to this day in this church.

This is a picture of the Se Cathedral, right opposite the Basilica.

The Basilica has a beautiful yard, made all the more prettier by the number of trees that grow here. Needless to say, I was charmed by it.

These two pictures were taken inside the Basilica. The first one might be an imperfect shot, but I loved the feeling the sepia tone gives to the picture.

This one is, again, a picture of the Basilica – from another angle.

This picture is of The Church of Mae de Deus,Β another lovely structure. Sadly, we couldn’t go inside this church as it is open only on Sundays.

Gosh! Such pretty churches! I could make a trip to Goa any time just for the beaches and the churches! πŸ™‚
